Just because the weather is turning warmer and humid, does not mean that you should look sloppy. Although the hot weather might require a guy to reconsider his wardrobe choices, but a few subtle changes to your wardrobe will allow you to stay cool and beat the heat in smart ways. Whether you’re at the beach chilling with your friends, attending a Sunday Brunch, prepping up for your first day in college, travelling for work or planning to attend your best friend’s wedding, you can still have great style. Here are a few looks you can take inspiration from to be summer ready and leave the right impression.
To keep the weekends relaxed, try the ‘athleisure’ trend. Pair joggers, a plain coloured t-shirt and flip flops or opt for polo shirts paired with oxford shorts or pants and loafers. In fact, invest in some light and bright-coloured polo shirts this year for your wardrobe and look desirably cool in the sweltering heat.
To look stylish yet formal in the summer, all it takes is some small and deliberate gestures. You might think of wearing khaki pants with a white or light coloured shirt, but end up looking like a junior IT staff member. To choose summer outfits for work, one needs to think about the colors, patterns, textures, and accessories all together. Wear straight-fit cotton pants with Chinese-collared shirts and pair this ensemble with tan-coloured brogues on the meeting days or simply go for a sky blue cotton shirt with bright navy coloured pants paired with loafers for relaxed days at work.
Summer weddings come with the best excuse to ditch your decked up look in tuxedos or Sherwanis. Instead, make heads turn by donning light-colored linen suits in tones of gray, mint green, peach, beige, white, powder blue, etc. with subtly-patterned shirts along with a few flashes of color to make all the difference. For that desi wedding look, either pair a white coloured chikan kurta-pyjama with a bright-patterned cotton Nehru jacket or simply opt for a bright-hued plain kurta-pyjama with brocade Nehru jacket. Add a jeweled broach to add drama to the outfits and wear velvet slip-ons to complete the look.
Designer Surbhi Pansari predicts on the trend and adds that currently, there are a huge number of trends emerging in the Indian groom’s wear category. These days, the groom avail services of fashion designers to create their looks for different functions. Sherwanis have evolved with time and has undergone a transformation with colours, fabrics, textures and fits/cuts. This Spring Summer opt for asymmetrical cuts along with neutral hues for making the right impression at any event. Moreover, the use of natural fabrics such as linen, silk, cotton, jute, cotton silk and sheer fabrics will bring out a new definition in your wardrobe. Look out for intricate design motifs embroidered on the Jodhpuri Coats, Kurtas and Bandhgalas to make those heads turn.
Delhi based designer Kamal Lakhwani gives his views on the summer fashion trend, stating that for he coming season grooms can choose sherwanis with all over subtle & elegant thread embroidery with tiny hints of gold peeking through on raw silk fabric stoles to complete a royal & rich look. This season the grooms are also ready to experiment brighter colours like royal blue, pink, bright reds to match their brides in brilliance.
For the groomsmen, three piece suits in checks are highly in demand with various styling ideas & quircky fun waistcoats. And not to forget the accessories like brooches, lapel pins, pocket squares which is extremely essential to complete the perfectly styled look.
